The first Savoring Sewickley was held in October 2000, inspired by an event that former Sewickley Café proprietor Don Reinhardt had helped organize in his hometown of Louisville, KY. Twenty-five years later, the recipe for a great evening remains much the same: good food, good friends, and a great community coming together to support the library.
Over the years, Savoring Sewickley has become a favorite annual gathering for food lovers and library supporters throughout the Quaker Valley area. Each year brings a wonderful mix of returning favorites and new local participants, making every Savoring Sewickley a little different.
Proceeds from the event support the Sewickley Public Library of the Quaker Valley School District and its efforts to serve the community by providing funds for programming, activities, collection development, and other needs.
